Recognition

CONGRATS to Tetteybea Addo for being recognized as the 2021 TSBA Northwest District winner!

Each year, TSBA honors one student from each of the nine districts who has achieved distinction in the areas of academics, community leadership, and engagement as part of the Student Recognition Award program. One of those nine students will win the statewide Student Recognition Award to be presented at the TSBA Annual Convention in November, which will include a $2,000 scholarship. The 2021 Northwest District winner is Tetteybea Addo of Gibson County Special. As a senior at South Gibson County High School in the Gibson County Special School District, Tetteybea is a part of the Gibson County Mayor’s Youth Council and volunteers at her local RIFA Soup Kitchen. She currently acts as President for her school’s HOSA Organization and is a member of the SGC Student Ambassadors program. Due to the pandemic, she has gotten involved with peer tutoring to help those students who have fallen behind in the classroom. Additionally, she takes it upon herself to collect recyclable items in the community to take to the recycling center in her town.
