South Gibson Co. High School

We will allow students to check out on Tuesday, October 28^th at 9:30 A.M. to drive to the game in Chattanooga. You will be required to have a parent note, or your parent must come to the school to check you out to leave the school property. There will be no exceptions made. You will check out in the gym lobby with Mrs. Miller or Mrs. McCollum. When you arrive at the game in Chattanooga, it will be your responsibility to find Mrs. Tami Johnson and check in with her. You will need to be signed in to your GCSSD account to check in; this will cover you for 2^nd–4^th blocks on Tuesday.  If you do not report to school on Tuesday, you will need to use a parent note for 1^st block.  Due to seniors taking the ACT on Tuesday, any senior wanting to attend the game does not need to come to school at all on Tuesday.  In order to have 1^st-4^th blocks excused on Tuesday for seniors, they will need to sign in with Mrs. Tami Johnson at the game.  Seniors will take the ACT on the makeup day. Please remember you must have a parent note to check out, or your parent will need to physically come to the school to check you out on Tuesday or Wednesday. There will be no exceptions. We will not accept a phone call, text message, email, or fax. Not checking in with a designated person at the game will result in your attendance being counted as unexcused for the time you are not in school.  If the girls win on Tuesday, they will play at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 29^th. Students will be allowed to check out on Wednesday, October 29^th at 11:30 A.M. The same procedures from Tuesday will be followed. Parent notes are required to check out, and you will need to check in with Mrs. Tami Johnson at the game for your 3^rd and 4^th block to be excused. Additionally, if you choose not to attend school on Thursday, October 30^th, that day will be excused, if you have checked in with Mrs. Johnson on Wednesday.  

Girls Soccer State Game – Process to have your absence excused. 

1. Must sign out in the gym lobby with Mrs. Miller or Mrs. McCollum @ 9:30 A.M for Tuesday, October 28^th’s game and @ 11:30 A.M. for Wednesday, October 29^th’ s game. 

2. Must have a parent note to sign out, or the parent needs to be physically present at the school to check you out – no exceptions will be made, no phone calls, text, email, or fax allowed.  

3. When arriving at the game, you are required to find Mrs. Tami Johnson to check in with her. If you do not check in, your absence will be counted unexcused. You will need to be signed in to your GCSSD account to check in.  

4. If attending Wednesday’s game and not attending school, you will be required to find the designated signor and check in with them for your absence to be excused during the 3^rd and 4^th block.  

5. If you do not come to school on Tuesday, 1^st block, you will need to use a parent note for that block. If the team advances and you choose to attend Wednesday’s game, but do not come to school 1^st and 2^nd blocks, you will need to use a parent note for those blocks. You will also need to check in with the designated signor at the game on Wednesday to have the 3^rd and 4^th block excused.
